Jay Feghali | Advisory Board Member

 

Jay is a senior specialist in gender, GBV, protection, disability inclusion, and intersectionality, with extensive experience across humanitarian and development settings in the MENA region, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. His work combines programme leadership, technical advisory, research, evaluation, and capacity strengthening, supporting UN agencies, INGOs, donors, governments, and civil society organisations. He also serves as the MENA Regional Expert for the pioneering athlete safeguarding initiative, YourSide.

He has led research, assessments, evaluations, and third-party monitoring assignments for over 30 organisations including IFES, Kvinna till Kvinna, Mercy Corps, Norwegian Church Aid, Save the Children, UNFPA, UNICEF, as well as UN Trust Fund-supported initiatives. While his technical expertise centres on violence, inclusion, and safeguarding, he has also worked extensively across multiple sectors including child protection, education, health, nutrition, WASH, livelihoods and economic recovery, cash assistance, governance, and anti-corruption programming.
Jay has developed organisational strategies, policies, and guidance on safeguarding, PSEAH, participation, data ethics, and responsible data governance. He has authored publications, training manuals, and learning resources, and has designed and facilitated comprehensive training programmes, toolkits, and self-paced online learning courses for frontline practitioners, managers, and senior leadership teams. His approach combines strong analytical skills with practical field experience, helping organisations strengthen systems, improve accountability, and translate evidence into effective programming.
